At Aum Yoga Studio, the name holds deep meaning. In Sanskrit, Aum represents a sacred sound and vibration—the essence of all creation, embodying the beginning, middle, and end. This profound symbolism guides everything we do, from our mindful practices to the welcoming energy of our space.
Nestled in the heart of San Pedro de Alcántara, Marbella, our boutique studio is thoughtfully designed for connection and growth. With space for up to 14 students, our intimate classes allow for personalized guidance from our expert teachers. Step into Aum Yoga and experience the harmony of body, mind, and spirit.
My yoga journey began at a very young age, the practice of Bhakti yoga, Hatha yoga and meditation were a daily occurrance whilst growing up. Yoga was and is a way of life.
Originally from Kenya the move to UK and USA paved the path to take up teacher trainings and and study/practice with various teachers/schools of thought, Ruth White (Iyengar), Shiva Rea (Prana Flow Vinyasa), Cindy Lee (Tibetan Buddhist Om Yoga), David Life, Sharon Gannon (Jivamukti) , Saul David Raye ( Bhakti yoga) , Leslie Kaminoff (Yoga anatomy/therapy), Thomas Myers (Kinesiology) amongst many other gurus.
After completing many hundreds of hours of study and practice, my style of teaching is a combination of what I have learnt on the yoga journey and its constantly evolving.

Make sure you book your spot as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Registration closes 15 minutes before class starts, but you can always try dropping in - although we can't guarantee a mat will be available.
Complimentary mats are provided in-studio, but you're always welcome to bring your own. We also provide any props you might need during class, like blocks, bolsters, straps, and cosy blankets handmade in Morocco. At the end of class, please clean your mat with the sprays provided, roll it up, and put it away - leaving the space clear for the next class.
Please take your shoes off when you come in and check in with the teacher at the front desk by giving your name and letting them know of any specific needs, injuries or conditions that might require attention - including pregnancy and being new to yoga. We're a small team, and sometimes there might not be someone to check you in. If that's the case, please wait outside until the teacher can let you into the studio. If the door's open and no one is at the front desk, you can check yourself into class with the iPad.
Out of respect for our teachers, students, and the space they've created, we can't allow latecomers, so please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before class starts. Latecomers won’t be eligible to change their booking to a later date.
Phones and personal belongings are not allowed upstairs in our practice room. We kindly ask that you leave all personal belongings stowed away in a locker. You can bring water and a towel with you into the studio.
You can cancel your class booking up to 6 hours before class. After that, it's considered a late cancellation. Late cancellations and no-shows will result in the loss of your booking or a £12 penalty fee if you're an unlimited member. We automatically let unlimited members off once a month to count for the occasional time when things come up beyond your control.
When a class books up, our waitlist opens up. As people cancel, each person will be automatically added to the class in the order they signed up. When a spot opens up, the first person on the waitlist will get a text from us notifying them of the opening. They'll get 45 minutes to either accept or decline the spot. If declined or missed, the spot will go to the next person on the waitlist. The waitlist cuts off 60 minutes before class. If a spot opens after the cutoff, an automatic text will go out to the whole waitlist and the first person who confirms will get the spot.
If you're pregnant, please let the teacher know ahead of class. We do not recommend starting a new movement practice in your first trimester. We also do not recommend practising any new movements you haven't been doing before your pregnancy (i.e. inversions and those totally new to yoga āsana) or breath holds and fast-paced breathing (i.e., 3-part breath, kapalabhati breath). Please consult with your doctor before signing up for class.
Our intro packages expire 1 month after the first class you signed up for. All other class packages expire 3 months from the date of purchase, with no exceptions. Please refer to your membership when you log into Momence for the exact date.
Single classes, workshops, class packs, and membership plans are non-refundable and must be used within a certain time period. All workshop bookings are final. We do not offer transfers, refunds or store credit. Some in-person workshops are also available online, so you don't have to miss out on the magic.
